What are Hook and Loop Fasteners?

Hook and Loop fasteners are designed to be removable; the hook part and loop part can be attached and reattached repeatedly. The hook component has rows of stiff looped plastic spikes. The loop part is the fuzzy looped material that catches and holds the hook. When the two sides are separated by pulling them apart, there is a scratchy ripping sound.
